GURUNG’S ‘KHEMA LIPI’ NOW AVAILABLE IN UNICODE

Tamu (Gurung) language alphabet (KHEMA LIPI) can be written in Unicode now. KHEMA LIPI is transformed into technology friendly after 46 years of its use. KHEMA LIPI’s Unicode format is launched by philosopher/linguistic Yogendra Yadav on 10th June at an event organized by National Council House of Tamu (Gurung). Tilak Gurung took 9 months to create KHEMA LIPI in Unicode. Those who are curious about Gurung culture, language, alphabet and wants to learn KHEMA LIPI can learn from home through computer and mobile. According to clerical amplifier Bal Narshingh Gurung PACHYU (GURU) Pim Bahadur Gurung have restored KHEMA LIPI around 2030 BS. Gurung people call male ancestor as KHE, female ancestor as MA and they worship/pray KHE-MA from birth to till death. So KHEMA LIPI is given the name KHEMA. There are total 29 consonant and 6 vowel sound in KHEMA LIPI.
