TIA PRACTICES AIRCRAFT CRASH RESCUE

Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu practices aircraft crash rescue, halting all the flights on Wednesday for 30 minutes. According to the Airport, personnel rescue training was done in between 3 Pm to 3:30 Pm at the northeast part of the airport. There were almost 2 hundred representatives of concerned authorities which included flight crew, police, army, fire brigade, hospital, medical personnel, ambulance operator, airport staff, air traffic controller, and airline company present at the practice session. The International Civil Aviation Organization ICAO has directed that all the international airports must practice ‘full-scale emergency exercise’ every two years.
