NG GROUP ANNOUNCES NEPAL’S FIRST PLAYWRITING COMPETITION

NG Group (ङ समूह) , a youth-led Kathmandu based artist group has announced Nepal’s first playwriting competition called “Playwriting Competition for Young Writers” targeting young and enthusiastic writers.
Such kind of competition is happening in Nepal for the first time with a primary objective to promote and facilitate the writing and performance of original content for a theatre production and perform final selected play in the capital for a certain period of time. The competition aims also aims to initiate conversations, encourage productions of original content and connect theatre to literature in a balanced relationship.
The competition will be judged by Anup Baral, Upendra Subba and Anbika Giri where the selected writers will also be trained through workshops.
The competition is a Joint venture of NG Group (ङ समूह) and Siddhartha Arts Foundation Education Initiative (SAFEI) with partnership of the Dansih Centre for Culture and Development (CKU). Sangri-La Books is the official publication partner for the competition whilst the official venue partner is Mandala Theatre Nepal.
