“KORA”, A PLAY ABOUT TIBETAN REFUGEES ONSTAGE AT SHILPEE

Shilpee Theatre, Battisputali is staging a play titled “Kora” directed by Loonibha Tuladhar. “Kora” is a play based on Tenzin Tsundue’s poetry Anthology translated into Nepali by Che Shankar. “Kora” is the combination of  four different poems-Horizon, Refugee, The Tibetan in Mumbai and Exile House included in Tsundue’s anthology of short stories and poems of the same name. The play is an attempt in exploring the struggle, fear and plights of the Tibetan refugees  living in exile in parts of Nepal and India.

“Kora” features music by Shreeti Pradhan and Rubin (Kutumba). The play’s ensemble includes actors Nirmal Saud, Deepti Poudel, Bipul Thapa, Sharmila Shrestha, Suraj KC, Suraj Tamu, Vikash Sharma and Vijay Nepal among others.

“Kora” is being staged at Shilpee from 5:30 onwards until Jestha 31/ June 14 (except for Tuesdays). Matinee show starts at 1:00 on Saturdays.
