A Very Talented Santosh Lama

Santosh Lama is a Nepali singer from Naubise Khatripauwa, Dhading. He was the winner of “Nepali Tara-2” in 2064. Lama had participated in the first season of Nepali Tara too and succeed to made it to the top twenty. He was born as the youngest son to Bishnumaya and Surendra Lama. He studied at “Chandikadevi Ni.Maa.Vi.” in Baadbhanjyang and “Mangalodaya Maa.Vi” in Thankot. When in the class 8, he participated in a musical show called “Timro Sur Mero Geet” and was placed third in the competition. Later, when he was studying at class 10, he again participated in “Sursangam” and won the title. After holding the title for “Sursangam” he recorded a song “Euta Ful Saarhai Ramro” for the first time penned by his elder brother Sanjay Lama and composed by Kiran Moktan. The winner of “Nepali Tara-2”, Santosh Lama had to struggle a lot hard even after winning the title to get a string foothold in the Nepali music industry. Finally, he got an offer to sing for music director Chetan Sapkota to sing a song “Ke Saaro Chitikka Mileko” for the Nepali film “Bhagwan Sabaiko” directed by Pradip Shrestha. Lama also sang for so many other films like “First Love”, “Nigraani”, Pritiko Ful”, “Loot Company”, “Dhuwani”, “Visa Girl” and many more. “Ekchinmaa Yo Ke Bhayo” is one of his hits. Santosh also lent his voice for “Kasle Suruwat Garyo Hola” from an album titled “Manbhitra” and became a superhit. He has travelled so many countries in his singing career. During his eight years of singing career, he has released a couple of album titled “Batuwa” and “Ambar”. Lama will soon be releasing his solo album “Achyataa” composed by Nhyoo Bajracharya and penned by Roshan Bhattrai. Currently, he is co-hosting the third edition of musical reality show “Nepali Tara” on Nepal Television and NTV Plus with Dharmendra Shewan, first runner-up of “Nepali Tara-1”. We can say that Lama is known as one of the best and a very talented singers in Nepal.
