KUMARI PUJA OF INDRA JATRA
Indra Jatra began yesterday in Kathmandu. It is celebrated only in Kathmandu. It is one of the biggest festivals in the Newari community. This procession (Jatra) is celebrated to worship god Indra who is also known as the god of rain. On its second day the living goddess Kumari worshiped. So, there was a group Kumari Puja held this year at Basantapur. Some glimpse of today’s Kumari Puja are listed below.
