“Manchinte Firante” is a play adopted from an Italian author Leo Lionni’s world famous children’s book “Frederick”. ”Manchinte Firatnte”, that contributed to the mouse community in a different way than the other mice. Directed by Rajan Khatiwada, “Manchinte Firante” is the lead character of the play who thinks about the solutions to any problems that come their way rather than thinking about other things like food and shelter. While the other field mice stockpile food for the winter, “Manchinte Firante” gathers rays from the sun, a rainbow of colors and marvelous words. In the play, other mice are storing up supplies for the winter while “Manchinte Firante” thinks that food and shelter are not the only necessity in anyone’s life. It is “Manchinte Firante” who warms his friends and cheers them with his words. The play has been staged in different places across Kathmandu by the group of mandala theatre through travelling theatre truck “Junkiri” from 16th of baisakh and will last till 2nd of Jestha.
