Anuradha koirala is very respected and great social activist of Nepal. She was born to Gurung family of Colonel Pratap Sing Gurung and mother Laxmi Gurung at Rumjatar, Okhaldhunga Nepal in 14th April 1949. She is founder and director of ‘Maiti Nepal’ which was formed in 1993. ‘Maiti Nepal’ is nonprofit organization which is aimed to prevent human trafficking by raising awareness. Anuradha is honored by the most respected award of world CNN HERO in 2010 for contributing her most valuable time to rescue and rehabilitate sex victim women and girls. She was married to Dinesh Prasad Koirala at the age of 19. Her son Manish Koirala is also involved in social work. Anuradha’s organization raids brothels of India patrols India-Nepal boarder to rescue and save girls/women from trafficking. She and her organization have rescued more than fifteen thousand girls and women till today.
