For farmers living around Sankhu it is the season to bring in their major crop PADDY. Farmers here plant rice/paddy soon after monsoon season starts and harvest before the biggest festival Dashain which means around Asoj. Farmers from other parts of Nepal harvest paddy a few weeks or month later. Since rice is one of the staple foods of Nepali, Nepali farmers get more excited about its farming. Labors get more jobs during the season of planting and harvesting rice. People from terai region also come to work in Sankhu during this season.
