Mandala Theatre’s classical play ‘Antigone’ is being staged in Biratnagar on its way to partake in ongoing 8th Theatre Olympics being held in India. The play, directed by Rajan Khatiwoda will travel to Guwahati and Delhi of India respectively after performing in Biratnagar and will return to Kathmandu after staging in Pokhara, Nepal. The play is considered as one of the greatest tragedies by Sophocles that presents the downfall of a King who fails to judge the situation and ruins everything by his poor decisions. A happy man after the houseful shows in Biratnagar, Khatiwoda explains the relevance of the play in the context of Nepal which is going through a transitional phase in the aftermath of constitution promulgation process.
